- When it rains, it pours! In the last couple of days I have been receiving calls as well as e-mail regarding employment. Some look promising, while others I'm choosing to approach with caution. Even a British company seems to be intersted...Could I end up back in Britain? Who knows where it may go from here? All I do know is that there is still a world of possibility out there.

- Yesterday something finally happened with the whole job search thing, I got a job! After all the resume's and applications I sent out, online and off, I simply walked into a video game store in Walled Lake and they were looking for managers! My sister's advice was right on the money about getting out there. Then again, having a friend who notices the sign in the shop window can't hurt either. Either way, for the time being, I'm now an assistant manager of a Gamestop.
- Bad dreams of things from my past seem to plague my sleep most nights spent at home. How long does one have to wait until these things fade into memory? How long until I can sleep without a shooter and a meltonin? Sometimes, I don't want to get to bed at all.

- Much joy was beheld upon seeing my custom tailored kilt had finally arrived! Now I can attend my sister's wedding this October in true Scottish fashion. For those of you curious: I will be wearing this particular item of clothing in the "traditional" Highland way ;0) No peeking!
- In celebration of my new complete outfit, I've posted a photo of me sporting the MacDonald tartan on New Year's eve in Edinburgh. See my knobby knees! Check out the
Picture Gallery under "travels".

- Not a lot of time for updates recently. No big deal, at least there is a good excuse: The dire need for income!
- Frustrating it is, the experience of realizing you have been going about things in the wrong way. Many of the resume's I've sent out over the last two weeks have probably been rejected before they were even looked over. When writing a resume remember this: Keep it simple, and more importantly, RELEVANT to whatever job you are applying for. An accounting firm will most likely not care if you have extensive experience in the field of dentistry. Just some food for thought which I was a grateful consumer of tonight. Thanks guys, you know who you are.

-Recently, I've been hearing stories about former classmates. So many have chosen the West coast route to acting. What ever happened to theater? Has the pursuit of fame and fortune undermined the ideals of what we began to pursue when we chose the arts in the first place? I for one am still looking towards the stage for meaning in my life, not the camera. On the other hand, if by establishing yourself as a commercially viable actor on film allowed you to do whatever you wanted, would that be so bad?
- Began working on some new things to enhance the site a bit. There is now a special directory on this site to house all my experiments in web design. I even am working on navigation menus for this very page! Take a look if you like! http://tyson.ztnet.com/ex

- Finally got my grad application into EMU and I should be finding out weather I get in for my classes in the next week or so. I am confident things will work out in my favor on this manner. At least once this is done I can call myself a Graduate student ;0)
- I met with some old friends today and it got me reflecting on how far we all have come since my dreaded days as Dexter High School. Hearing about what has happened to some of my old classmates, some spent time in Yale, others in jail, and others (worst of all in my opinion) have done little with their lives. Learning of the fate of these kids i grew up with is another driving force to keep me going. Maybe I will go to my ten-year reunion...Maybe not!

- On your right, you'll see the crest for McDonald of Clanranald. This little pic was taken directly from the Clanranald Trust for Scotland web page. These are the bunch of rough-and-tumble blokes I trained with while living in Scotland. You can get a hold of all types of things on their site. From weapons to clothing, it's all there! News is updated frequently (So I am told) providing up to date information on upcoming Clan events. Well worth checking out! Clanranald's purpose is to keep Scottish tradition and heritage alive through education outreach. A unique charity in that many members are well trained in one martial art or another
- Got some photos up on the Photo Main Page. Now most of the little thumbnails lead to actual photos! Hey, this is exciting for me ;0)

- Writing is what helps me get through those tough times. You ever notice when you put it all down on paper and really look at it, things are not as bad as they may seem.

- Since preparing for the GRE is on my list of things to do, I've added a link to one of the many sites dedicated to helping a prospective student prepare. Click the button to try your hand on a GRE question at Number2.come
- My sister Kerry is getting married! check out her registry at Bed Bath N' Beyond or check out her wedding page at The Knot.com! Sign the guest book and voice your condolences! She is all happy with her new shoes ;0) Sh

- Feeling rather satisfied with my work on this page. It is becoming what I intended, a resource for people to keep updated on my life, and also a fun, creative outlet for my many pursuits.
- More to look at in and among the
Interesting Tidbits! New pics and new links grace the page!
- Got the rest of the Scroll bars done and over with. Now each page has a matching bar for it's own color scheme!
- More applying for jobs. I've sent out so many résumés and filled out so many forms that I may never want to see another application in my entire life! Searching for a job in this day and age is a kind of soul-draining experience...That is for those of us who do not have a degree from a Ivy League university. To solve this problem, I intend to apply to Yale ASAP. ;0)

- Got some work done in the Picture Gallery section as well as started the Interesting Tidbits. Now there are actually links there to look at!
- And if you look to your right...You'll notice that this page now has a colored scroll bar! I've been dying to figure out how to do that and now I have. I can die in peace ;0) I'll probably do others to match the coloring on the rest of the site, but not today.
- Ok, so I did get around to some of the scroll bars after all. I think they look rather nice!
- Some days are harder than others. You ever get that feeling like you're not moving anywhere? When that happens to me, I simply remind myself that I've been around the planet over the last year. That usually suffices. Thanks to all those who kept in contact, it helped me through those lonely patches.

- Today turned out to be much in terms of getting things done. It now appears as though I' shall now be a student of EMU's graduate school! Even though this is only to get some transfer credits for the University of my choice, it does mark the beginning of my MFA.
- Doing a web page is no small task! Getting all my stuff online is gonna take some major time. On the bright side, I made progress on the "In Months Past" section, so check it out if you have time!

Tuesday July 9th, 2002

- So sue me, I never got around to working on this page for a year! What can I say? I've been extremely busy! My travels have seen me around the world and back. Now that I am home for a while, I'm taking stock of my life and even considering graduate school! If you see this and I've yet to get in contact with you, look me up!
